Happy Monday. Thank goodness the winter storm seems to have passed us all and we can get back to normal. We got a little snow Wed night, which melted Thursday, and then we had snow Friday night and Saturday. Probably about 3 or 4 inches total. Lots of sleet instead of snow, so the accumulation was not nearly the 8 inches they forecasted. And not nearly what they got in DC or the rest of the East Coast. Fortunately, it was pretty but not destructive. I had electricity the whole time so I was warm and toasty, reading books, watching movies, and working on needlepoint. My two sweet kitties took turns sitting on my lap.
Here are a few pictures of around my house. The birds were busy at the feeder and clearly walked around on the porch!
I ventured out on Saturday early morning for a walk. Hardly anyone was up and it was beautiful and quiet. I walked again on Sunday. 4 miles in snow is as hard as walking in sand at the beach. My legs were tired last night. I also shoveled my front walk and the driveway. That is hard work! Here are some photos from my adventures.
This morning I woke up to the most beautiful sunrise. The whole sky was pink!
Fortunately I think the roads are clearing...I have book club tonight and I am ready to get out of the house! I'll be back soon with pancakes (yes, more pancakes) and a lentil casserole.
